2024 AIChE Mid-American Regional Conference
The 2024 AIChE Mid-America Regional Student Conference will take place April 5-7, in Fayetteville, Arkansas, on the campus of the University of Arkansas.
Registration for the 2024 AIChE Mid-America Regional Student Conference is now closed. On-site registration on Friday, April 5, will be available.
On-site registration for competitions (Chem-E-Car, Chem-E-Jeopardy, Student Poster Competition, Student Technical Presentation) will not be accepted. On site registrants will not be guaranteed full access to giveaways and perks.

We are hosting a Lunch-and-Learn career fair in White Engineering Hall from 12:00 to 1:30 pm on Saturday April 6th. Grab some Pickelman’s and network with peers and companies.

Industry tours will take place on Friday April 5th from 3:00-5:00 PM. Sign-ups be first come first serve. Please meet at the location 5 minutes before the start time. There will be volunteers from the University of Arkansas available to help during the tour. A University of Arkansas volunteer will contact you before the event to confirm your attendance and assist with any other questions.
Flyaway Brewing Tour:
Flyaway is a brewing company based in Little Rock, Arkansas. They have recently opened a brewery here in Fayetteville! This tour will give insight into the equipment and processes used for making beer. There will be 4 tours of 10 people each, click the link above to sign up. Drinking and driving will not be allowed.

Dr. Tom Spicer’s Wind Lab Tour:
Dr. Spicer’s wind lab is located south of campus and focuses on gas dispersion at low wind speeds. This is to help determine the characteristics of how toxic gases would disperse in the event of a leak or some other kind of safety failure. The lab will be demonstrating how the tunnel works and giving an all-around tour of the equipment. There will be 2 tours with 15 people each.

Conference Events

The Chem-E-Car Competition is an annual competition hosted by the annual American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE). The goal of the event is to construct a shoe-box sized car and compete with this at the competition. Universities and Colleges participate in this with other North American and international teams.

Competition Rules
All teams are required to carefully read and review all Chem-E-Car Competition® documents to fully understand the requirements to safely compete at an AIChE Chem-E-Car Competition.
Additionally, all participants in an AIChE Chem-E-Car Competition must take and pass the AIChE Chem-E-Car Safety Training Course with a minimum score of 80%.
Registration
Please register using the Chem-E-Car tab on the bulk registration sheet. Then, submit the registraiton sheet using the above button labelled "Submit Registration File Here."
Please note that if you order chemicals through the bulk registration form, the faculty advisor listed will be invoiced for the chemical costs.
Universities with Two Teams
Universities who have registered two teams nationally will have both registrations honored.

Compete in a Jeopardy game utilizing questions from chemical engineering undergraduate coursework. The champion team from the Mid-America Region will advance to compete at AIChE’s annual student conference to determine the national champion team

We are looking for volunteers to judge our student competitions: Technical Paper Presentation, Poster Presentation, and Chem-E-Car.
All judges must have a bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Chemical Engineering. Additional volunteer positions are available for set-up and tear-down that do not have an education requirement.
Register as a volunteer using the bulk registration sheet. Please write “Volunteer” as your attendee type. All volunteer registration fees will be waived. Then, submit the registraiton sheet using the above button labelled "Submit Registration File Here."
